Battery energy storage systems for domestic use are currently mainly associated with self-consumption of your solar energy. Batteries will become an important element of every household in the near future, as the upcoming changes in the energy market and the accelerated shift towards renewable energy generation are already showing the signs of large price variations based on the time of day.

A battery combined with solar means achieving self-sufficiency. For households with solar power installed, direct consumption of total energy produced is typically only 20%-25%. As a result, the majority of the energy produced is fed into the grid, which causes a number of problems, as there is usually enough or too much energy in the grid during solar peak production periods, but not enough during off-peak periods, when solar energy is not available. The surplus of energy produced has to be sold and additional electricity needs to be purchased when needed, usually for higher prices. The grid usage charges and associated costs also have to be paid for energy consumed.

By installing a battery, we ensure that most of the energy generated, which would have been fed into the grid, is stored and consumed on site, behind the metering point. In this way, we achieve real self-sufficiency, allowing us to consume our own energy and be increasingly independent of energy market prices and grid charges.

Batteries also enable peak shaving, which means that we can avoid paying for the so-called excess power use. In cases where there is no excess power generated from the solar plant to be stored, the smart controls in the battery ensure that it charges when electricity prices are lowest, and provides power to the home when grid electricity prices are highest. Simultaneously, the battery continuously manages the predetermined peak amount of energy drawn from the grid at the metering point.

The ECS is a high-performance, scalable battery storage system. The modular design allows for maximum flexibility, making it suitable for a broad range of storage applications. Additional batteries can be installed in series, allowing for a maximum storage capacity of 20.16kWh.
Installation is easy, with a plug and play solution that can save valuable time for installers.
